Renata is the Managing Director of HTK Group Ltd, an organisation established in 2015 to meet the growing demand for a Māori and indigenous business advisory organisation that is purpose driven. Renata has more than ten years of experience in senior executive and leadership positions alongside being a successful investor and entrepreneur. Renata sits on several Boards on a range of organisations which include crown, commercial, iwi, post settlement entities, not for profit and start up entities. Renata has extensive experience and a diverse range of skills working across iwi, public and the startup and commercial sector, and has a major passion for Māori economic development with a focus on Māori business (particularly Māori and Indigenous SME’s), social innovation and enterprise, workforce development and employment, STEM and the Future of work. Renata has deep connections into the communities in which he serves, and sees himself as an enabler of people, an accelerator for Māori and indigenous, and a servant of his people.

Chante is an energetic, creative, and innovative person, with a solid understanding and experience within the education sector. Chante is a motivated leader with strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.

This comes from coupling and utilising the skillset of motherhood with fulltime teaching as well as having oversite of our whanau business. Chante is a trained and experienced teacher and holds a Bachelor of Learning and Teaching from the University of Canterbury, alongside a Certificate in Business Administration from the Auckland University of Technology, and a Level 1 Te Reo Māori Attestation through Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu. Chante is part of the HTK Group team which holds our key relationship with the Pūhoro STEM Academy. Chante is also a current shareholder of HTK Group Limited.

Ruiha Caldwell MBA, ACA, CFE

Ruiha is a qualified and seasoned professional with a 20+ year career in tax, accounting, finance and risk management.

She is an Associate Chartered Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner and has an MBA with a specialty Finance accreditation. She is director of Hautū Holdings and works with multiple North Canterbury organisations who have a shared kaupapa of empowering Māori to achieve. She has senior management experience in both New Zealand and Australia. She lead finance and risk for Flight Centre Australia’s Northern Territory operations, she spent many years in senior investigative roles within Inland Revenue’s National Office, she held management accounting responsibilities with Ngāi Tahu Farming, Ngāi Tahu Forestry, Wakatipu Holdings and Proseed Limited. She was also the inaugural Chief Financial Officer for Whenua Kura. She is dedicated to the development of Māori land, Māori businesses and the upskilling of Māori youth in their own communities. She believes that true health and wellbeing come when Māori maintain their connection with their land and she is committed to building up a self-determining Māori workforce to help develop the uneconomic Māori land blocks she manages throughout Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri rohe. She is the Executive Treasurer for Ngai Tūāhuriri Rūnanga and lives on the Pā in Tuahiwi. Ruiha works on a part time basis with HTK Group overseeing their finances and provides internal compliance control. She is an integral part to the team.

Mihi is a mother of 5 tamariki and lives in Christchurch were she is based alongside our Managing Director.

She has extensive administration experience in the public and private sectors, with Ahuwhenua Trusts, whānau trusts, SMEs and Māori organisations. Her passion is around providing high performance support to the team thus ensuring they deliver the services and meet their objectives. A highly skilled project manager and event manager, Mihi’s professionalism ensures that project and logistical support for our team and partners exceed expectations.

Tracey oversees the administration functions of our organisation.

Tracey has over 20 years’ experience in administration, project coordination, EA and general technical administration secretariat services to whānau trusts, SMEs and Māori and large mainstream organisations. Tracey is the glue in the HTK Group team who ensures the team runs smoothly and efficiency. In her spare time Tracey is passionate about sports and recreation alongside spending time with her mokopuna.

Jason Fox LLB

Jason Fox (Ngā Ruahine, Ngāti Ruanui, Taranaki, Taranaki Whānui) started his working life as a lawyer with Māori Legal Services in Wellington in 1995.

Jason then went on in 2000 to co-founded the tech- education company Cultureflow with partner Sarah Reo and built the first commercial software product to learn Māori in NZ. Jason then later pioneered the first NZ tech footsteps into the China market in 2002. Committed to seeing the Māori community do well - Jason has spent the last 6 years as head executive across three different Post Settlement Government Entities from Northland (Te Roroa) to Auckland (Ngāti Whātua) and Wellington (Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust) leading commercial and social development and accelerating Māori communities. Jason is currently a Business partner and consultant for HTK Group.
